Chess Miles
Under constructionA reward for turning up, playing, and helping other players get there.
Chess Miles is a planned loyalty programme for tournament players. It is not running yet: nothing is tracked and no miles are collected.
What this will be
Chess miles are meant to reward the things that keep the chess scene alive but nobody counts: entering an open, driving three club mates to a weekend tournament, showing up for round one on a wet Tuesday. You would collect them automatically through your ChessCentrum account and spend them on entry discounts and credit with partner shops.
How you would earn them
A design sketch, not a price list. These rates are how the programme is being modelled today, and they will change before anything goes live.
Where we are
Like a game, this is being built in three phases. We are still in the opening.
- 1In progress
Opening
Deciding what earns miles, what a mile is worth, and which partners would accept them. This is where the work is now.
- 2Not started
Middlegame
Building the ledger: a balance on your account, an earning history you can check, and the partner side that redeems miles.
- 3Not started
Endgame
Testing with a small group at real tournaments, then opening it to everyone.
What is not happening yet
So that nothing on this page is mistaken for a working feature:
- No miles are being collected. There is no balance behind any account.
- Nothing you play now is being recorded for later, and games from before launch will not be credited retroactively.
- No partner has committed to accepting miles yet.
