A group of mostly retired, longtime local players gathers daily at Igorot Park (Igorot Garden), near the Magsaysay/Harrison intersection in central Baguio, to play informal chess for a cup of coffee or a small P10-P20 bet; some named regulars have played there since the 1980s-90s. A 2018 travel post independently confirms the park still draws chess players who "ask anyone who would like to play with them."
